Small Grant: Big Improvement

We are pleased to be launching our established Small Grant: Big Improvement scheme for applications. This year we are offering up to £1000 for individual museums (with 25% match funding) and up to £7,000 for partnerships of museums or museum networks (with 25% match funding).

Projects we fund address the following three themes:

  • Organisational health
  • Managing collections
  • Users and their experiences

Business Diagnostic

After a successful programme in 2019, with investment of over £23,000, we are pleased to once again be opening applications to the Business Diagnostic programme. This is a working model, developed by Museum Development teams across England, to help individual museums identify key areas for growth.

 South West Visitor Insights

This year we are opening applications to South West Visitor Insights, our flexible audience evaluation programme.  Tailored to work particularly well for organisations who have fewer than 20,000 visitors, have a volunteer workforce and operate seasonally. We can help your museum understand engage with your current and potential audiences.

Impact and Insights Toolkit

For 2020 we will be offering eight fully subsidised licenses for the Impact and Insights Toolkit. We are working with the Museum Development network and Counting What Counts to pilot this national programme, for non-NPO museums in the South West. This is a new resource for organisations to evaluate the impact of their work on the people who experience it.

If you have any questions ahead of our programme launch on Monday 10th February please get in touch.
