Please note this is a two-part training session on consecutive days – attendees are required to attend both sessions.
Session 1 – Tuesday 7th July, 10.00-11.15
Session 2 – Wednesday 8th July, 14.00-15.15
These will be 1 hour, 15 min online sessions via Zoom
Session 1 will focus on:
- How to think about and imagine alternative futures, including getting to ready to plan in a VUCA* world;
- An introduction to using scenario planning and
- Working with business models in the new abnormal.
(* VUCA is an acronym that stands for volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous.)
Session 2 will focus on:
Providing an opportunity for exploring the concept of design thinking to build confidence in your chosen future path. It includes gathering insightful data, free techniques for engaging with potential target customers, prototyping and sensitivity analysis.

This course is aimed at senior managers, volunteers and trustees who are responsible for business planning in their museum and who recognise that a new creative approach to the process is needed to meet the challenges ahead.
