Environmental sustainability in museums
Monday 1st November 2021 10.00 – 12.00
This is an interactive session on environmental sustainability and museums – introducing the Carbon Literacy toolkit for museums – 15 places available.
About the Session:
Timed to coincide with the start of COP26 in Glasgow this session will present our plans for helping museums examine their environmental impact, discover practical ways in which they can become more sustainable and find out how to use their collections to consider the changes to climate and biodiversity and help their community to respond. The session will also launch the Carbon Literacy Toolkit for Museums. The toolkit supports museums to look holistically at how they can address environmental sustainability across their organisation. Full details will be released in due course.
This Carbon Literacy Toolkit is part of the Roots and Branches project is a collaborative project between Manchester Museum and the Carbon Literacy Trust to support environmental sustainability training for museums.
Who should attend?
This session is for staff and volunteers interested in learning more about how their museum can respond to the climate emergency by improving their work on sustainability.
