Forward planning can feel particularly difficult for museums during a pandemic, but expert trainer Susan J Royce will show you how to plan for the future with confidence, despite the uncertainty we face.

About the session

This is an interactive online session, with a maximum capacity of 18 people.

We will cover:

  • Thinking about and imagining alternative futures, including getting ready to plan in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world.
  • An overview of scenario planning and working with business models in museums today.
  • ‘Design thinking’ to build confidence in your chosen options.
  • How to gather useful data, and get into prototyping, sensitivity analysis, and engaging with potential customers.

Before the course begins, we recommend you take a look at this two-minute video about the Business Model Canvas to introduce this succinct planning model.

Who should attend?

This course will be useful for senior managers, volunteers and trustees who are involved in business planning at their museum, and who could benefit from a new creative approach to planning for the future.
