UOSH: Engaging Communities Through Podcasting

Podcast microphone with audio editing software in backgroundWednesday 9 March 2022
10.30 – 12.00
Via Zoom

Join staff from Bristol Museums and Archives, Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH), and BCfm, to find out what they learned from a hugely successful podcast project which saw local people make podcasts with audio archive clips.

About the Session:

This is an interactive online session, with a maximum of 18 places available.

Discover why this partnership project was so well-received that it was repeated twice, to reach more local people and get them delving into archives of audio material.

Our speakers all took part in the project with their organisations. We’ll be joined by:

  • Jackie Winchester, Senior Officer for Participation, from Bristol Museums. Jackie has many years’ experience in community engagement.
  • Katie Scaife, the Project Manager for UOSH, who has a background in the heritage sector.
  • Marcus Smith, a broadcaster from BCfm, who is also a creative and journalist.

This is an opportunity to learn about podcasting projects with archive material, and think how you could start a similar project in your area.

Who should attend?

Staff and volunteers who want to engage their visitors or community in audio materials, such as voice clips or music.
