SW Museum Skills: Plus

SW Museum Skills: Plus is primarily a practice-based workshop style training programme, developed from the externally funded projects delivered by South West Museum Development (SWMD) over the past five years.

Additional funding or investment is required to deliver these sessions and therefore project funding and/or delegate charges of between £20 and £50 are required to cover the costs of sessions which often include kits of equipment for the organisations represented by the delegates.

Sessions are booked via Eventbrite or through project participation and coordinated by SWMD alongside project delivery partners. Delivered in a workshop style the sessions are a full day and include access to specialist staff and are likely to include technical equipment at specific venues alongside kits to enable practice-based skills development. Most workshops will require completion of a pre-session questionnaire to assess the delegates’ current level of knowledge and experience in the session subject.

Additional materials and online e-learning resources from the courses will be developed to support delegates sharing the learning across their organisation, refresh their skills and enable access to practical skills training more widely across the region.

Due to the nature of project funded activity, the Museum Skills: Plus programme will be delivered across the full year and evolve as projects are developed, funded and implemented.
