Travel bursaries to attend Touring Exhibitions Group Seminar

South West Museum Development is offering x 3 travel and/ or accommodation bursaries of up to £100, plus seminar costs, to attend the Touring Exhibition’s Group 2019 Seminar on Commissioning and Collaborating to Tour on Thursday 2nd May 2018, at the Think Tank, Birmingham Science Museum in Birmingham.

The seminar will explore how to commission creative content, graphic design and exhibition build and infrastructure to tour exhibitions. It will look at the imaginative, practical and contractual steps involved in commissioning artists, writers, poets and other creatives, as well as graphic and exhibition designers, to help you get the most out of these relationships. This seminar will also be useful for those who are working with exhibitions which do not tour as well.

How to apply

Please email [email protected] by Friday 5th April 2019 with the following information:

  • Describe how attending would support your museum and how you would share knowledge with staff or volunteers (max. 500 words)
  • How likely without this travel grant would you be able to attend this seminar
  • Value of the grant applied for (maximum £100)

Applicants will be notified of the outcomes of their Expression of Interest by Wednesday 10th April 2019.

Eligibility

You must be based at a museum within the Accreditation scheme in the south west and actively working on exhibition production in your museum. Only one application can be made per organisation.
