Our cohort of museums for 2020 have now been shortlisted and invited to take part in our audience evaluation programme.

Tailored to work particularly well for organisations who have fewer than 20,000 visitors and have a volunteer workforce and operate seasonally.

Using South West Visitor Insights will help you to:

  • Have a clear understanding of who your current audiences are
  • Increase your audiences by targeting and tailoring your offer
  • Write informed, evidence based funding applications
  • Advocate to current and potential partners about the reach of your audiences
  • Prioritise areas of work e.g. programming and outreach
  • Spend limited marketing budgets more effectively
  • Engage with new audiences locally and nationally
  • Understand why people engage, their interests and what they value
  • Understand the impact of tourism on your audiences

Our 2020 programme cohort

For 2020 we have invited the following museums to work with us on South West Visitor Insights. We are excited to have such a strong cohort participating this year and are looking forward to supporting them to capture insight from their audiences in order to help their museums develop and grow.

Due to the current measures from HM Government to keep us all safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, delivery of the South West Visitor Insights programme is currently on pause.

Nevertheless, we are still committed to working with the 2020 cohort as soon as we can once the situation has become clearer. We hope that the measures currently in place are short-lived and effective, and we look forward to supporting museums in welcoming their visitors back once they are able to.

We understand that this may be a phased approach, and we are aware that the way audiences engage with museums may be different in the future. We are eager to use South West Visitor Insights to evaluate the nuances of audiences as a way to help museums understand how their audiences want to experience culture in this changing landscape.
