It will offer a development journey for museums to build their capacity, skills and confidence. Museums will be able to roadmap for the future together. The ten participant museums will have access to specialist support in audience development and volunteering, as well as training, skills development and peer learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The project offers museums a combination of diagnosis, tailored specialist intervention and peer support to begin new ways of working.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participant museums will: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Re-shape the way they work with the help of a team of specialists and local organisations.<\/li>\n<li>Involve and engage local communities currently under-represented in their heritage, audiences and volunteer teams.<\/li>\n<li>Become part of a network, developing mutual support and learning.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively use resources, to grow and strengthen Gloucestershire\u2019s museums.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6672 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB-300x300.png\" alt=\"Heritage fund logo in a teal circle\" width=\"131\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB-60x60.png 60w, https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB-100x100.png 100w, https:\/\/southwestmuseums.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/NLHF_Bright-Teal_Acknowledgement-stamp_RGB.png 533w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 131px) 100vw, 131px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Museums and communities in Gloucestershire will benefit from this project thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, who distribute grants for inspiring projects, to sustain and transform the UK&#8217;s heritage. Rebuilding the Foundations: Gloucestershire\u2019s Museums joins the 44,000 projects awarded a total of \u00a38bn in funding since 1994.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with ten museums in Gloucestershire as part of Rebuilding the Foundations! \u00a0This project is vital for the museums\u2019 long term resilience. \u00a0These museums tell incredible stories of local and national significance through their collections, bringing Gloucestershire\u2019s vibrant and fascinating histories to life.<\/p>\n<p>Museums are critical to the cultural and economic ecology of the county.\u00a0 Without them a huge part of Gloucestershire\u2019s heritage would be lost.
