Summer is now in full swing, as is our summer SW Museum Skills programme, so we are now turning our thoughts to our upcoming Banish the Backlog Programme with Collections Trust. You only have two weeks from today to submit your Expression of Interest for the programme! This programme is perfect for staff and volunteers who manage collections and want to resolve collection documentation backlogs.

In this newsletter we’re also celebrating our Small Open Grants, as recently we awarded just over £80,000 in Small Open Grants to 16 museums and heritage organisations across the South West. The museums got the green light to start their projects in June, so we thought we’d look at how they’ll use their grants to improve and develop their offer in our latest blog.

Lastly, we’re taking a look at the achievements of a museum in Somerset who has been awarded The Kings Award for Voluntary Service which recognises outstanding work by local volunteers to benefit their communities.

In this newsletter you’ll find your usual round up of sector news and grants available from charity bodies.

If you’re not already a subscriber, please sign up to the newsletter and you’ll receive our monthly update direct to your inbox.
