Working with volunteers in a ‘new normal’

This session will support you to work effectively with your volunteer team as your organisation takes its next steps in the current crisis.
We will explore how to assess what new tasks and associated skills might be needed in your setting. We will look at how you might work towards putting these in place in line with volunteering best practice, but also taking relevant legal, ethical and policy obligations and government guidance into account.
We know that museums are finding that initial and ongoing consultation and communication with volunteers is vital during this crisis. How can you plan and follow through on an effective, flexible and responsive strategy for this? We’ll look at some real examples from a range of museums
Lastly, we will explore ways you can support the ongoing wellbeing of your volunteer team, both now and as your situation changes.
