Our first newsletter of 2022 is packed with a range of training courses to suit your needs, including the brand new Carbon Literacy Training. To keep everyone safe during the pandemic, we still offer all our training over Zoom.

White outline of a house placed against living wall backdrop of ivy leavesThanks to Museum Development England, Manchester Museum and the Carbon Literacy Project, two of our staff members have been trained in carbon literacy – this means they can show you how to make your museum more sustainable. Every participant on this course will be certified as Carbon Literate (the individuals become certified, rather than the museums), which will look great on your CV.

Our other training sessions cover everything from digital marketing to caring for collections as a trustee. Places will fill up fast, so don’t wait to book – it’s free.

We’ve also got the latest funding opportunities, including our Green Grants programme, where we’ve just extended the deadline to give you more time to apply. You now have until midday on Monday 14 February 2022 to submit your application for up to £2,500 worth of grant funding.

As ever, our Thematic Officers share updates from the world of audience development, conservation, digital engagement, and sustainable volunteering. We even have a new case study on increasing volunteer diversity at Blandford Town Museum. To top things off, our wider sector updates include advice on free bank accounts that museums can use.

If you’re not already a subscriber, please sign up to the newsletter here and you’ll receive our monthly update.
