Spring is in full swing and so are we – with so many upcoming skills development opportunities, news and new resources, they couldn’t possibly all fit into just one newsletter.

With Pride month coming up this summer, many museums are looking at how they can meaningfully engage LGBTQ+ communities with their work, events and collections.

We are hosting an in-person Sharing Practice session in partnership with The Box Plymouth, ‘Creating Space for LGBTQ+ Communities and Stories‘, on Thursday 25 May, 10:15am to 4:30pm. This is a great opportunity to understand the principles of good community engagement and how to apply them within your own museum.

In this session, you will hear from a wide range of speakers about how museums are currently engaging with LGBTQ+ communities, and how to create space for LGBTQ+ stories and histories within museum spaces. The day will also include a curator-led tour of the Hannah Quinlan and Rosie Hastings: Portraits exhibition at The Box.

There are a limited number of places available and you only until Thursday 18th May to get your free ticket!

In our newsletter you can also find out about our programme for 2023-24 and read our brand new case studies and resources. Time is also running out to book onto our Google Analytics 4 webinar as well as ‘All Clear?‘, our copyright peer support programme.

Keep your eyes peeled on your inboxes, as we’ll be announcing our summer South West Museum Skills Training programme in May.
