Now is the time to get your team talking grants, as not only does Small Open Grants close this month, but today we open two new grants – On Display! and Capacity Builder. For both of these grant streams we are running information webinars on Tuesday 21 May and Wednesday 22 May.

On Display! supports the conservation of individual objects or small groups of objects that you want to display. Grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 are available to support the conservation work or mounting of selected objects. Capacity Builder offers grants to help museums become more resilient through the development of their staff and volunteers. These grants can be used to help individuals, teams or groups of museums (collaborations).

We’re thrilled to announce that the Annual Museum Survey will open on Monday 20 May. This year, the survey will be open for six weeks and will close on Tuesday 2 July. If your museum is part of the Accreditation scheme and didn’t participate in the 2023 survey or hasn’t registered for this year’s survey yet, reach out to your Museum Development Officer for a quick registration process.

Also, we are launching a support programme in partnership with Kids in MuseumsKids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Cohort. The programme aims to support museums who do not have a dedicated learning team or member of staff to become more family friendly organisations.

We’ve also got a hello from new members of our team who will be supporting museums in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as well as your usual round up of sector updates.
